Wilmar AgServices has launched a new stockfeed supplement to meet market demand for a product that’s very high in phosphorus.
SuplaFlo®+Max Phos has been formulated to boost livestock health and production in green pastures or phosphorus-deficient country.
SuplaFlo+Max Phos was launched in March to meet the demand from graziers for a liquid supplement with very high levels of phosphorus.Stockfeed Product Manager Liana Lillford said the new product was a high-phosphorus version of SuplaFlo+Phos, which was launched three years ago to target phosphorus deficiency – the largest mineral deficiency in Queensland cattle.
“SuplaFlo+Phos has performed extremely well in the market because so much of northern Australia’s grazing country is phosphorus deficient,” she said.
“In fact, customers were seeing such good results from feeding out SuplaFlo+Phos that they started asking us for a product with even higher levels of phosphorus to use in severely deficient parts of Queensland such as Barcaldine, Bundaberg and Charleville.”
Liana said this led to the development of SuplaFlo+Max Phos – Wilmar’s high-phosphorus option for livestock with higher phosphorus needs.
The new product hit the market in March and has been well received across north and central Queensland.
“We’re marketing this new product as a wet season supplement, as this is when cattle respond best to phosphorus supplementation,” Liana said.
“During the wet season, pastures are green and lush, but they still have low levels of phosphorus. Phosphorus is important in all bodily processes for cattle – from bone development to reproductive function.”
Wilmar Liquid Stockfeed Supplements now has six core products in its range: SuplaFlo®, SuplaFlo®+Phos, SuplaFlo®+Max Phos, SuplaFlo®+Urea, SuplaFlo®+Urea+Phos and OrganicFlo®.
