An apprenticeship with Wilmar Sugar and Renewables is more than just a job - it's the start of a career that sets you up for life. You’ll experience hands-on training in a busy industrial environment, with mentoring from some of the best tradespeople in the industry. You'll also work for a company that values safety, innovation and teamwork.
Our Apprenticeship Program runs for four years and combines practical (on-the-job) and theoretical (in-the-classroom) training. You’ll complete the practical training in one of our sugar mills or bioethanol distillery, located in Ingham, the Burdekin region, Proserpine and Sarina. The theoretical component is done through a registered training organisation, such as a TAFE.
To support you through your apprenticeship, we provide uniforms, personal protective equipment (eg helmets, glasses, gloves, boots) and a full professional tool kit. We also pay for your TAFE training.
We offer apprenticeships in:
- Electrical
- Fabricating
- Fitting and turning
- Diesel fitting
Eligibility criteria
You must:
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Meet the minimum education requirement of Year 10 sound achievement (pass) in Maths and English
- Have your own transport or the ability to get to and from work
- Be in good health
