From its plants in Asia, Wilmar manufactures caprylic (C8) and capric (C10) acid derived from palm kernel oil. Caprylic acid is used as an ingredient in formulations for antimicrobial pesticide for sanitiser. It is also known to be used as a dietary supplement in the ester form, and there are industrial applications for this caprylic acid in mining flotation formulations.
