From its plants in Asia, Wilmar manufactures naturally sourced d-alpha tocopherol oil. It is a clear, viscous, amber oil with a mild vegetable oil-like odour. It is widely used in dietary supplements such as soft gel capsules. Prolonged exposure of the raw oil to oxygen and light may result in gradual darkening. Soybean or sunflower oil may be added to standardise concentration. Natural vitamin E contains twice the activity of synthetic vitamin E.
