Ethoxy propanol is arcosolv PE, ethyl proxitol, and propylene glycol monoethyl ether. It is a clear liquid with a characteristic ether-like odour. It is hygroscopic and miscible with water. It also provides good solvency for a wide variety of substances, including resins, inks and adhesives.
Ethoxy propanol is used mainly in the surface coating and printing industries as it can regulate the flow, levelling and coalescence of both surface coatings (including water-based paints) and flexographic printing inks.
