Propylene glycol (PG) is an organic compound. It is a viscous, colourless liquid, which is nearly odourless but has a faintly sweet taste. PG is a synthetic product obtained from the hydration of propylene oxide, which is derived from petroleum products.
Propylene glycol is widely used in many applications from food and beverage to pharmaceutical and surface coatings.
