Wilmar's contribution to the Queensland economy, communities, and the environment is being highlighted on digital billboards.

The billboards are located in Mackay Airport’s busy departure lounge, on Townsville Airport’s large arrivals and departure sign near the security area, and in Townsville’s CBD, at the intersection of Flinders and Denham streets.

General Manager Corporate Relations Chris Stewart said the campaign, which will run into early next year, aimed to increase awareness of Wilmar’s sizeable contribution to Queensland.

“Not everyone is aware of just how significant our contribution is,” he said.

“So, as Australia deals with the ongoing challenges of COVID-19, we thought it was a good time to assure our fellow Queenslanders that we are continuing to do our part.

“We are providing jobs, supporting communities, and generating economic activity, both directly and indirectly.”

The campaign also highlights Wilmar’s leadership in green energy, having produced bioethanol and renewable electricity for many decades.

About 20 different billboards will be rolled out over the coming months, with eight launched this week (four in each region).

Each billboard features a key message about Wilmar’s contribution, paired with an image of an employee or a Wilmar site.
