The recent rain event impacted harvesting across most of our milling regions and our projected season finish dates have pushed out.
We currently expect Kalamia, Inkerman and Proserpine mills to finish next week.
Our two Herbert factories are on track to finish before Christmas.
Invicta and Pioneer mills are currently expected to finish in the last week of December.
Plane Creek Mill is expected to crush into January.
It has been a challenging season on a number of fronts, and we had hoped to be nearer the finish line at this point. We recognise this is causing some anxiety among growers and harvesting operators.
But, as we've said previously, we are committed to processing the whole crop.
That means we will keep operating while there is an adequate amount of cane being supplied to the factory on a regular basis to support the commercially justified operation of that mill.
More rain is forecast for later this week, and all sectors of the industry are hoping for minimal impact.
In the meantime, we have asked growers and harvesting contractors to keep working closely with our logistics teams and let them know if there are any issues with cane supply.
We'll continue to keep our key stakeholders updated as we work towards the successful completion of the 2024 crush.
