We have passed the halfway mark for the 2024 season, with a total of 8.39M tonnes of cane processed across our eight mills.

This represents 54 per cent of the total forecast crop.

Our latest crop review has seen the total crop revised upwards to 15.54M tonnes – an increase of 90,000 tonnes.

HERBERT

1. HBT

• The Herbert crop estimate remains 4.1M tonnes.
• Good weather has enabled us to optimise throughput in the past few weeks.
• The Herbert crop is currently cutting at 75 tonnes per hectare and 96 per cent of the adjusted estimate.

BURDEKIN

2. BKN

• The Burdekin crop estimate remains 8.2M tonnes – no overall change since the end of August review.
• Good weather has seen the four Burdekin sites crushing above budget on average over the past month.
• Season-to-date cut to estimate is holding steady at just over 96 per cent.

PROSERPINE

3. PRO

• The Proserpine crop estimate has been adjusted to 1.73M tonnes – an increase of 30,000 tonnes since the end of August review.
• Last week’s throughput of just over 88,000 tonnes was the highest for the 2024 season.
• The crop is cutting above estimate at 103.6 per cent season to date when compared to the original forecast.

PLANE CREEK

4. PCK

• The Plane Creek crop estimate has been adjusted to 1.51M tonnes – an increase of 60,000 tonnes since the end of August review.
• With fine weather continuing, the CCS is sitting at 15 units average for the week with a season-to-date average of 13.75.
• The crop is currently cutting at 86 tonnes per hectare.
