We’ve been named North Queensland Large Employer of the Year at the Queensland Training Awards.

 The award recognises outstanding achievement in vocational education and training by a Queensland business with 200 or more full-time employees.

Wilmar Training and Development Manager Scott Young said it was great to be named North Queensland’s Large Employer of the year.

“It’s a recognition of Wilmar’s commitment to the ongoing training and development of our employees,” Mr Young said.

“We’ve kept up our delivery of training, even with added challenges imposed by COVID-19 restrictions.

“We are also particularly proud of our employee pathway programs including the apprenticeships and traineeships we provide for people within our regional communities.”

This year’s award ceremony was held online on Friday, 23 July, and is available to watch in the video below. 

As the North Queensland winner, Wilmar now proceeds to the award state finals, which will be held on 4 September. We’ll be up against six other regional winners for the title of Queensland Large Employer of the Year.
