We’re continuing to make good progress with the 2025 crop, underpinned by solid factory performance and a decent run of fine weather.

As at 8am today (30 September), our eight factories had processed close to 10.38M tonnes of sugarcane or 71 per cent of the total crop.

We completed our second reforecast last week and the total crop has been revised down to 14.52M tonnes – a decrease of about 110,000 tonnes on the August estimate.

We’re currently on track for a November finish in the Herbert, Burdekin and Proserpine regions, with Plane Creek projected to finish in early December.

HERBERT

Herbert

• The recent re-estimate saw the Herbert crop revised upwards from 3.55M to 3.7M tonnes – an increase of 150,000 tonnes.
• Recent dry and cool conditions have seen CCS levels climb above 13 units, which is better than expected after the February flood event.
• The field sector is doing a good job of maintaining timely communications with our operations team and keeping cane supply up to the factories.

BURDEKIN

Burdekin

• The recent re-estimate saw the Burdekin crop revised downwards from 7.97M to 7.85M tonnes – a decrease of 120,000 tonnes.
• Factory performance has been good at all sites with occasional stoppages as expected for this stage of the season.
• Dry conditions are impacting the remaining crop, with a further reduction in tonnage and an increase in CCS.

PROSERPINE

Proserpine

• The recent re-estimate saw the Proserpine crop revised downwards from 1.58M to 1.53M tonnes – a decrease of 50,000 tonnes.
• CCS levels remain high and are tracking almost half a unit above budget for the week to date.
• Dry weather conditions have seen a decline in average crop yields since the start of September.

PLANE CREEK

Plane Creek

• The recent re-estimate saw the Plane Creek crop revised downwards from 1.53M to 1.44M tonnes – a decrease of about 90,000 tonnes.
• Crushing rates have improved with good bin weights being supplied from the growing and harvesting sectors.
• Seasonal CCS continues to climb with the prolonged dry conditions.
